Prof. Irfan Habib delivered Lecture at M.M. Hall

Sunday morning, when the weather was very severe in Aligarh due to biting cold, at exactly 11.30AM Prof Irfan Habib, Prof. Emeritus reached the venue i.e. Common Room of M.M.Hall to deliver the lecture as part of Motivational Lecture series. Residents of M.M. Hall welcomed him and introduced themselves so that he could get a feel of the audience as to which faculty they mainly belonged. Programm started with the recitation from the holy Quran. I had the privilege to formally welcome and introduce the learned legendary figure for the benefit of freshers amongst the residents. Prof. Habib then started speaking and within few minutes when the venue was full to capacity he mesmerized the students with his words of wisdom. His full concentration was on how to prepare for various competitive examinations. He deliberated upon all the three aspects, Objective type, Subjective type of questions and the most important aspect i.e. Interview. Giving various examples he explained in a very lucid manner all the things. It was rare opportunity for the residents to interact with an authority of his subject. Students asked number of questions from the learned speaker. After the lecture an interactive session was also arranged. Residents were so excited that they wanted to continue the session for a longer period even after 2 hours. Vote of thanks was proposed by Mr.Tasdeeq Ahmad, Senior Hall. Mr.Shahnawaz conducted the proceedings. Such lectures really appear to be the need of the hour and should be arranged periodically. It was with this intention that this series has been started and shall continue till the end of the session in M.M.hall. I am sure the residents will continue to be involved in such activities which ultimately benefit them in their careers.
