ALIGARH, October 27: A group of Kashmiri students led by Major G. M. Khan reached Aligarh Muslim University yesterday and visited its historical buildings. They were on a nation-wide Sadbhavna Yatra. The group visited Strachey Hall, University Jama Masjid, Sir Syed House, University Fort, etc. They also interacted with students of AMU, particularly the Kashmiri students.
Earlier, the Public Relations Officer, Dr. Rahat Abrar welcomed the group and officials of the army. Major G. M. Khan and Subedar Mahendra Singh along with Kashmiri students presented a memento to Dr. Rahat Abrar. The Yatra will end on 30th October at Bandipur, J & K.
Major G. M. Khan said that the Indian Army has taken several steps for integration of the military affected people of Jammu & Kashmir with the main land under operation Sadbhavna. Major Khan observed that the students of this state, especially of Kashmir valley remain out of the national mainstream. Therefore, the army has taken out a National Integration Tour, “Watan ki Sair” in which 25 Kashmiri students are participating to get acquainted with the national mainstream.
