Key note address at the concluding session of Courses Organized by Academic Staff College

*ALIGARH, February 10:* Professor Emeritus at Department of English, a
distinguished scholar of English and authority on higher education,
Professor Farhatullah Khan advised the course participants to carry forward
the message of harmony to their institutions and to keep themselves abreast
of the latest developments in their discipline in order to make themselves
equipped with the sense of competition and preparedness in lieu of the
competitive academic world. Professor Khan was delivering the key note
address at the concluding session of three courses organized by UGC Academic
Staff College, Aligarh Muslim University.

Prof. Khan highlighted the concept of quality and values in higher education
to realize the goal of national glory in the perspective of increased
globalization of knowledge culture.

Prof. A. R. Kidwai, Director, UGC Academic Staff College exhorted the course
participants to share the knowledge and skill gained by them with their
colleagues and students of their respective institutions. Prof. Kidwai said
that this will bring about quality improvement in higher education. He also
urged the course participants to maintain and develop the bond of fraternity
forged at Academic Staff College, which will add to social cohesion and
communal harmony in the country.

Prof. A. H. Khan, Chairman, Department of Statistics and Course Coordinator,
Subject Refresher Course in Basic Science, Prof. Shireen Moosvi, Director,
Women's Study Centre and Course Coordinator of Orientation Programme in
Women's Studies and Prof. Parvez Talib, Dept. of Business Administration and
Course Coordinator, Subject Refresher Course in Business Studies were also
present on this occasion. More than 150 University/College teachers from all
parts of country attended these courses.
