*ALIGARH, February 18:* 109th Orientation Programme organized by UGC
Academic Staff College concluded today. Forty-eight University/College
teachers from Uttar Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Assam, Manipur, West Bengal,
Maharashtra and Pondicherry participated in the programme.
In the concluding session, Professor A.R. Kidwai congratulated them and
urged them to spread the message of academic excellence and communal harmony
throughout their teaching carrier.
Prof. Shamim Ahmad, Former Dean, Faculty of Engineering & Technology and
former PVC was the Chief Guest. He outlined the role and responsibilities of
an effective teacher and asked the participants to inscribe the spirit of
broadmindedness as Sir Syed Ahmad Khan and Mahatama Gandhi.
On this occasion Dr. M.S. Ritu Barna Khan (West Bangal) and Dr. Arif Qazi
(Jammu & Kashmir) also related their impressions about the orientation
programme hailing it as a grand success. It equipped them with many new
skills and teaching strategies and induced fresh, innovative ideas. Literary
and cultural evening, IT related activities and essay writing competition on
communal harmony were also organized as part of the orientation programme.
