ALIGARH February 9: The President of India, in her capacity as the Visitor of the Aligarh Muslim University, has constituted a two-member fresh ‘fact-finding committee’ comprising of Mr. Justice B. A. Khan, Retired Chief Justice, Delhi High Court and Mr. Justice A. N. Divecha, Retired Judge, Gujarat High Court to look into the allegations against the Vice Chancellor as also the counter allegations against the complainants.
In terms of Sub-section (2)(c) of Section 13 of the University Act, the University is free to appoint a representative who shall have the right to be present and be heard at the inspection or inquiry.
The University was directed to provide necessary secretarial assistance including logistics and manpower etc. The fresh Committee shall submit its report within two months from the date of its constitution. The Vice Chancellor Prof. P. K. Abdul Azis has ordered the University officials to provide all help and facilities to the freshly set up fact finding inquiry committee.
The two-member fact-finding committee shall devise its own modalities to proceed further.
