ALIGARH November 1: Junior and Sub-junior teams of AMU Roller Hockey won All India Invitation Roller Skiing Championship held at Musoorie. The Senior Team has bagged Bronze Medal. In the final match AMU Junior Team edge passed Jammu & Kashmir team by 6-5 and Sub-junior Team trounced Delhi by 7-3.AMU Senior Team went down fighting to Jammu & Kashmir by 4-6 in a playoff match and secured Third Position.
According to Prof. Tariq Mansoor, Secretary, Games Committee, Amir Khan has bagged three additional medals in the speed skating while Momin Pal got two medals in quads speed skating. Mohsin Khan and Zameer Khan secured First and Second place in artistic skating. Asadullah Khan bagged third position in Rink Race and Lamia Akbar got first place in Artistic Skating in girls’ category. Asadullah and Ashab Ahmad bagged First and Second place in Sub-junior Artistic Skating.
The Junior Team comprising Mohd. Yaqzan, Adeeb Anwar Mustafa, Umar Arif, Aftab Alam, Umar Sherwani, Mohd. Yawar, Saadullah Khan, Mohd. Usman and Mohd. Areeb secured Gold Medal and Sub-junior Team consisting of Mohd. Labeeb Akbar, Ayan Javed, Naeemur Rahman, Asadullah Khan, Izhan Azhar, Toshit Varshney and Santosh GM also bagged Gold Medal.
The Senior Team comprising Aamir Khan (Captain), Faizul Haque, Tahsin Ahmad, Anoop Kumar, Mohd. Shadab, Shariq Vali Khan, Mohd. Faizan, Mohd. Adnan Khan, Atif Hasan (GK) and Mohd. Mohsin Khan was awarded Bronze in Senior Roller Hockey Championship.
