Faculty Development programmes Organised

ALIGARH, September 8: The RELO, American Centre, US Embassy, New Delhi in collaboration with the UGC Academic Staff College, AMU organized several faculty development programmes in which AMU faculty members have received training for their professional and skills development


The Director of UGC Academic Staff College, Prof. A. R. Kidwai said that Dr. Raashid Nehal, Reader, Department of English, AMU has received scholarship from Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, US Department of State on E-course in EFL Assessment by Indiana University, USA while Dr. Amirullah Khan and Dr. Faiz Zaidi extended academic support by offering their training services to Madarsa teachers drawn from North India at Indian Institute of Social Sciences, which was also sponsored by RELO.

Dr. Amirullah Khan, Dr. Raashid Nehal and Dr. Faiz Zaidi attended a one-day Workshop on 'How to Use Dictionary in Access Classes at American Centre, New Delhi. Further, Dr. Raashid Nehal and Dr. Amirulah Khan attended the first Trainers Workshop on Training of Trainers at American Centre.

Mr. Naeem, a teacher of English at Senior Secondary School attended a 5-week Workshop at EFLU, Hyderabad sponsored by RELO. Another teacher of English at the same school, Mr. Nizam has been selected for attending the next 5-week Workshop at Hyderabad to be held in October - November 2010.

Dr. Vibha Sharma, Lecturer, Department of English has been awarded scholarship to participate in 4-weeks Teens Teacher Training Course in English for Fall term at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, USA.
