Viqar-ul-Mulk Hall Organizedannual literary and cultural festival MUNAFASA-2010

ALIGARH, March 27: The valedictory session of the annual literary and
cultural festival "MUNAFASA-2010" organized by Viqar-ul-Mulk Hall, Aligarh
Muslim University organized was also marked by the prize distribution to the
winners of various literary and cultural events. The festival that included
events like Creative Writing, Debate, Dumb Charade, Quiz, Mimicry, Extempore
etc, was inaugurated by the chief guest, Prof. Ashok Mittal, Chairman,
Department of Economics. A large number of students from different
departments and halls of residence of the University participated in the
programme.

The chief guest of the valedictory function Dr. Syed Javed Ali gave away
prizes to the winners of different events. Dr. Ali congratulated the winners
and urged the participants to strive hard to succeed in future.

Provost of the hall, Dr. Khalid Bin Yusuf Khan welcomed the guests.
President, Literary & Cultural Society Dr. Syed Faiz Zaidi proposed the vote
of thanks. Dr. Zaidi thanked Mr. Abdul Hamid Laskar, Secretary Literary &
Cultural for organizing this event. The programme was conducted by Mr. Asad
Ahmad. Senior Hall Mr. Imran Ali Khan, Sadanullah Khan, Ahmad Usama, Shabbir
Ahmad and other students worked hard to make the programme a success.

Prof. PK Abdul Azis today inaugurated the Visitor’s Lounge and Guest Room at RM Hall

ALIGARH January 8: The Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University Prof. P K Abdul Azis today inaugurated the Visitor’s Lounge and Guest Room at the Sir Ross Masood hall. This is the first of its kind facility to the parents of the resident of Ross Masood Hall.

Prof. Nawab Ali Khan, Provost Sir Ross Masood Hall, Wardens and Senior Hall Mr. Rubaid Ashfaq welcomed the University officials.

On this occasion, Mrs. Yasmeen Jalal beg, Finance Officer, Prof. Ainul Haq Khan, Dean Students’ Welfare, Prof. Ziauddin Khairoowala, Dean, Faculty of Commerce, Prof. M. Zubair Khan, proctor and Provosts of other Halls of Residence also grace the inaugural ceremony. AMU Vice Chancellor appreciated the efforts of the Provost, RM Hall and hoped that other Halls of residence would also provide such type of facilities for the parents of the students.

Annual function of Career Counseling Cell of MM Hall

ALIGARH December 22: The Senior Superintendent of Police of Aligarh Mr. Asim Arun delivered a lecture and interacted with the students of Mohsinul Mulk Hall at a programme organized under the aegis of the Career Counseling Cell of the Hall. Prof. Shan Mohammad, an eminent scholar and Director, Sir Syed Academy presided over the function.

Mr. Asim Arun, SSP, Aligarh mesmerized the audience with his oration. He spoke at length on different matters ranging from general law & order and how to present a human face of police in dealing with Public. Mr. Asim Arun shared his experiences as Police Officer with the students. Interacting with students Mr. Aruin answered all the questions asked by students.

Prof. Shan Mohammad in his presidential address enlightened the students about the relevance of Sir Syed's vision and mission. Replying to a question asked by the students Prof. Shan Mohammad elaborated the sacrifices made by Sir Syed and his associates to establish this great seat of learning. He said that today's Aligarh, to some extent, is what Sir Syed visualized more than a hundred year ago. Prof. Shan Mohammad urged the students to refrain from destructive activities and concentrate on their studies to fulfill the expectations of their parents.

Earlier in his welcome speech Dr. Suhail Sabir, Provost, M.M. Hall highlighted the main idea behind such endeavours. Dr. Suhail emphasized the importance of interaction with luminaries of different field that would help the students aspiring to appear for Civil Services and other competitive examinations. Dr. Sabir informed that such lecture will be held fortnightly.

Mr. Shahnawaz while conducting the proceedings, introduced the guests to the audience. Mr. Ghufran Ahmad, Incharge, Career Counseling Cell, M.M. Hall proposed vote of thanks. The programme was attended by the wardens of different hostels of M. M. Hall Er. Rizwanur Rehman Khan, Dr. Abdul Aziz Khan, Dr. Mohammad Shamim, Dr. Md. Yunous Ali Khan, Senior Hall Mr. Tasdique Ahmad, Senior Food Mr. Mohd. Nasib, Secretary, Literary Society, Md. Khursheed, Secretary, Cultural Society and other students.
